BYU-Idaho Radio · Integrity Mental Health is working to treat mental health in Rexburg

Rexburg is home to a new mental health clinic. Integrity Mental Health, which already has clinics in Boise and Coeur d’Alene, saw that Rexburg was lacking mental health resources.

“Idaho Falls has so many (clinics). Like they almost have too many,” said Reagan Heald, office director for the Rexburg clinic. “And so that’s why we … didn’t go to Idaho Falls … to give the people … in this part of the state these resources.”

Another reason for the clinic’s location is to focus on those who might struggle with the pressures of school and family. Rexburg prides itself in being “America’s Family Community,” and is home to thousands of students.

“I can’t tell you how many college students we see,” Heald said. “I mean, it’s so hard to be in your twenties and trying to find out who you are.”

But with a decrease in stigma surrounding mental health, Heald has seen individuals of all ages seek treatment. She encourages those who are wondering if they should seek professional help to do so.

Julie Moody, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, helps clients through therapy and prescriptions when necessary and desired. Heald says that what sets Integrity Mental Health apart is the clinic’s focus on individual needs. For example, they are willing to work with patients who wish to avoid taking medications to find different approaches.

“You’re not alone,” Heald said. “I guess that’s what I’m trying to say. You’re not alone. You always have somebody.”

Integrity Mental Health Rexburg does not currently have a waiting list. More information can be found at mentalhealthidaho.com
