Typically, the name of a band is contemplated and considered for a long amount of time and often there is a story behind it. For The Solarists, the contemplation and story is there but no one knows it.

"I want to not tell anybody so people can keep guessing," said Nate Wall, who plays lead guitar for the band.

Wall, Clint Purser, Justin Dunkley, and Kaua Sprout make up The Solarists and they've been playing together for a while. Wall, Purser, and Dunkley began writing and performing together in high school and Sprout was added after many members of the band served missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Solarists say having faith in God influences their music and they hope others can be motivated and moved by it.

"My faith has influenced my music and my creative process a lot," said Purser. "I want others people to be affected by it like it's affected me."
