The Idaho Falls Zoo is busy this summer with plenty of events planned for visitors beyond seeing the animals.
“Every time you attend one of these events the proceeds go right back into the zoo … so every time you visit you are supporting a really great cause,” said Emily Holschuh, a member of the Zoological Society at the Idaho Falls Zoo.
The zoo is holding a concert series featuring the classic rock cover band Perfect Chaos. They will play music as guests roam the park and enjoy the attractions for just $5.
“It is a family-friendly evening at the zoo … we will have the band Perfect Chaos in the zoo and you get to wander, listen to music, look at the wildlife, bring your whole family,” Holschuh said.
There’s also a monthly series of watercolor painting courses for visitors 21 years old and up where visitors will paint an animal at the zoo.
“We go and we take a look at those animals and take some reference pictures … learn things about the animals from the keepers … we learn how to paint them and people get to walk away with this beautiful artwork that they created,” Holshuh said.
