The public is invited to a special holiday market in Rexburg next week.
The East Idaho Art Market focuses on handmade and artist-designed artwork and goods and features various mediums and styles. It was founded by Alex Reed, who creates contemporary folk art, and Shelby Thayne, who makes nature landscape watercolor art.
Reed says they started the market so Rexburg artists could have a place to “come and share their artwork in a place that’s more centered on fine art and unique artists and crafts instead of a craft show.”
The founders have been preparing for the holiday market since their summer market finished with great success. The upcoming market will feature a variety of vendors.
“We’ve got somebody who frames pressed floral arrangements, somebody who does stained glass, a few painters,” Reed said. “We also have some really awesome food vendors.”
The holiday market will be held on Friday, Nov. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Madison District gymnasium at 60 W. Main St. in Rexburg.
