The Farmer’s Merchant Banquet in Rexburg has been going on for more than 80 years. The theme this year is titled “Plowing Ahead.” Chris Mann, the CEO of the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce, said the theme was chosen in recognition of the agricultural and business communities’ determination to “plow through” despite this difficult year.

The banquet, which will be held in the Madison High School Gymnasium on June 10, presents awards to business and members of the community in recognition of their success and hard work. Awards include the Women in Business Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Farmer of the Year Award and so much more. The awards are nominated by community members then voted on by chamber members.

“We have many, many heroes in this community and I have been privileged to witness many of them firsthand,” said Mann.

The event is also a fundraiser for the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce. Money gained during the night is used to put on events like the 4th of July parade, the veteran run and more. During the event, attendees will be able to watch the awards ceremony, participate in a silent auction and have a delicious meal of prime rib and chicken.

Tickets are available at the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce and are sold both individually and by table. Any members of the community are invited to attend.
