Elder David A. Bednar and his wife Sister Susan Bednar are speaking at BYU-Idaho this weekend.

Elder Bednar is a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is also a former president of BYU-Idaho. He will give his devotional address this Sunday. Sister Bednar will speak at a gathering for women this Saturday.

In an interview, Sister Bednar said the most asked question by congregations, youth and young adults all over the world is “How do I tell the difference between my own emotions and what the Spirit is telling me to do?”

“Any good thing is the result of Christ,” Elder Bednar said. “If your thoughts are virtuous, lovely, and of good report, you’re being influenced by the Holy Ghost.

“We just have to have the faith to choose,” Sister Bednar said. “I truly believe the Lord won’t let us get too far down a path that isn’t right.”

Elder Bednar will give his BYU-Idaho devotional this Sunday at 5 p.m. in the BYU-Idaho Center. You can also stream it live or listen live on 94.3, 91.5 and 88.3 FM. His message will be the second part of a two-part series of addresses to young adults. He invites students to read the first part of the series to prepare for his devotional. You can read it here

Elder Bednar’s devotional will take the place of BYU-Idaho’s regular Tuesday devotional for next week.

Sister Bednar is speaking at a special “A Gathering for Women” event Saturday to current and retired female employees and employee wives.
