On Tuesday, August 11, Brother Robert Stewart, the online learning managing director at BYU-Idaho, spoke during a BYU-Idaho devotional for the Summer Session.
His talk was entitled, “Choose to Live Happily Ever After.” He talked about the importance of remembering that good will always conquer evil in the end because of the Savior Jesus Christ.
“While we know that the Lord’s side will prevail, the most relevant question for me and for you is will we choose to be on the victorious side?” Stewart said.
Stewart shared many ideas in his talk and expounded on those ideas more in an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio.
He said one of the best things people can do to feel confident about their own happily ever after is to avoid distraction.
“Our future selves will be so grateful that we took this mortal probation seriously,” he said.
Stewart said that by continuing to be persistent in habits like repenting and seeking the Lord, we can achieve the results that we seek in our own lives.
Stewart gave a few to-dos for listeners to try if they wanted to choose their own happily ever after.
“Consider changes you can make in your life today in order to improve the consistency or quality of your scripture study,” he said, “Likewise, I invite you to prayerfully consider one or two things you can do, or stop doing, in order to increase your obedience to God’s commandments.”
