Every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m., BYU-Idaho hosts a career workshop for students. The Career Workshop is designed to help students with their career goals. Vance King, the strategic communications manager, leads the workshop as an adjunct faculty member

The workshop covers topics like writing resumes and cover letters, networking, competencies employers look for and more. The bi-weekly workshop is repeated each semester and repeats the curriculum.

“You can attend any [workshop], they don’t build upon one another. If you’re in that interviewing stage and you want to learn a little more about interviewing, then we invite you to come to that workshop because it will give you some tips to help you as you are preparing to interview,” said Sheila Wener, the Career Services operations manager at BYU-Idaho.

Wener works with a team of student employees to help students prepare with job market readiness.

“I recommend them for every student on campus because these workshops are teaching every student how to do something that helps them with their career,” Wener said.

If you cannot attend a workshop in person, but still want to know what was discussed, you can view a live broadcast on Facebook Live on the BYU-Idaho Career Center Facebook page, or click here.
