SAE Supermileage Competition Team
The BYU-Idaho Supermileage team just returned from the 2018 competition in Michigan. They achieved 622 mpg in the vehicle they designed and built, which was a 214 mpg improvement over last year's vehicle—and it earned them 5th place in the overall competition. There were 33 teams from all over the world that registered to compete. Nineteen of those teams passed the technical inspection and qualified to drive their cars on the track. BYUI had the first successful run of the competition and was 2nd only to Penn State in the reliability and endurance of their vehicle.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this vehicle and to BYU-Idaho's success! It’s time to start work on next year’s vehicle!
