Molly in the Mineshaft

REXBURG, Idaho ­­­- Molly in the Mineshaft will perform in the Kirkham Auditorium at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg on Friday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m.

Based out of Provo, Utah, Molly in the Mineshaft was founded in 2014. The musicians met while attending college and performing with other bands. They play a fusion of styles, including contemporary folk, bluegrass, jazz, Celtic and rock.

Awards and recognitions include three-time national twin-fiddle champions; multiple state fiddle championships; "Best of State" small instrumental group 2012; two-time state mandolin champion 2012-2013; state banjo champion 2012; and "Best Original Composition" Utah Percussive Arts Society 2012.

The band includes Jordan Benson on banjo and cello; Alex Vincent on bass and vocals; Talmage Haines on guitar; Erin Patterson on mandolin and vocals; Alina Bagley on violin, mandolin and vocals; Scott Monson on percussion and piano; and Grace Dayton on violin, mandolin and vocals.

Tickets for this Center Stage performance are $12 for the general public and $6 for BYU-Idaho students. They are available online at tickets.byui.edu or on school days from the University Store Ticket Office.
