Brigham Young University-Idaho students will sing in the upcoming priesthood session of the 188th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday, March 31, 2018.
The special choir is made up of 360 men from BYU-Idaho’s Men’s Choir, Collegiate Choir, Concert Choir, Vocal Union, and other male students who auditioned to participate. They will be led by Paul Busselberg, whose arrangements the choir will be singing.
“It’s a great honor to be asked to sing in general conference,” said Randall Kempton, director of the combined choir. “We’re very humbled and excited to be able to participate in this event.”
In addition to performing during general conference, the choir will perform during the BYU-Idaho Devotional on both Tuesday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 27. Due to the size of the choir, half of the choir will perform one week and the other half the following week. Each performance will feature different songs that will be sung during general conference.
“The men are excited and sound terrific,” Kempton said. “I think those who listen to and watch priesthood session will be very proud of what our men from BYU-Idaho can do.”
