Students will be prepared for a lifetime of involvement in the arts and create a portfolio of work ranging between still life, landscape, figurative, and abstract works.

Master Skills for Life’s Canvas
Students pursuing a degree in the fine arts will become part of a group of driven individuals who find great purpose, meaning, and enjoyment in art. This degree will give students the tools necessary to effectively communicate visually. By being exposed to various art styles, concepts, and ways of thinking, students will gain a deeper understanding of art as a whole. Through this process, students will develop their own artistic voice and taste. Under the supervision of the faculty at BYUI, students will develop a professional portfolio that will serve to represent them and their work in the professional world.
This degree is offered as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or as a Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA).
I came to BYUI because my art teacher in high school said, 'Find a professor who paints how you want to paint because they will teach you to paint the way they do.' This may seem like common sense, but it has changed my life... I came to BYUI and found what I was looking for. The professors here did beautiful work... Please never change... I have learned from many other wonderful professors. They all have taught me valuable lessons that have enabled me to succeed... I have been set up for success... Thank you everyone for the wonderful education I received. I will forever have fond memories of BYUI and my time spent in the Spori
