Writing Effective Student Learning Outcomes

Jill Kern gives a workshop presentation

Jill Kern visited BYU-Idaho faculty on February 26, 2018 to present, “Writing Effective Student Outcomes.” Jill taught faculty how to prepare their students and classrooms for success by writing student outcomes based upon knowledge, skills, and values. In conjunction, Jill reviews the difference between course, program, and college outcomes and the importance of each. She also instructs faculty on the steps they should take to write effective student outcomes that will be a standard of a student’s skill, body of knowledge, and level of mastery. Jill’s foundational principles prepare BYU-Idaho students to, one day, graduate confident in and knowledgeable about the subjects they’ve come to master.
