The Children of Abraham: Lessons of Faith and Devotion from the People of the Holy Land
- Thu 1:00 PM
- Fri 10:20 AM
The Holy Land is a place where adherents to the three great Abrahamic Faiths converge (Christianity, Judaism and Islam). Although cultural and historical differences exist, one inspiring attribute that permeates it all is a firm commitment to faith. As we witness their devotion and quest for spirituality, we can find inspiration and renewal in our own spiritual journey. Joseph Smith taught "We should gather up all the good and true principles in the world and treasure them up, or we shall not come out true Mormons." (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 316) We will explore some of the traditions and practices common to this region of the world. We will explore those elements that have meaningful connections to our own faith, and which can help us to better understand and appreciate these rich cultures.
