  • Hired in 2002 as an advisor in the newly created Student Activities Program. Established a full-contact campus football league.
  • Invited to serve as Student Living Coordinator in January 2008.
  • Have been serving as Director of the Housing & Student Living Office since October 2009 when the Housing Office and the Student Living Office merged.

Personal and Family Information

  • Grew up in Elma, WA, as the second of seven children (p: Dennis and Kae Dougherty).
  • Served a full-time mission in the Dominican Republic, Santiago (1995-97).
  • Attended Grinnell College (IA), studied Spanish, played football and basketball.
  • Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Chapter of Iowa.
  • Named 1st Team Hewlett-Packard All-America Quarterback, 1998.
  • Ended collegiate career as 1 of only 6 players in the history of NCAA Division III football to throw for over 10,000 yards and 100 touchdowns.
  • Met Anne Ogden of West Valley City in Iowa while attending Grinnell College. Anne was attending William Penn University (Oskaloosa, IA).
  • Married for 15 years.
  • Have seven children: Leah (14), Joseph (13), Heidi (11), Zachary (9), Sophia (6), Micah (4), and Peter (22 mos.).
