Linda and I are graduates of BYU Provo, class of 1985. Linda began her studies at BYUI (then Rick’s College). We met our senior year and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple the week after graduation.

We moved to Arlington, Virginia, where I grew up. I worked for an engineering firm and Linda taught first grade with Fairfax County Public Schools. She left teaching when our first son was born in 1988. She has taught piano since then.

We have three sons and a daughter. Two are BYU Provo graduates, one is a BYUI graduate, and our youngest son is now attending BYUI. We have four grandchildren whom we love visiting in Utah and California.

My father, uncle, and grandfather were builders. I learned from them. After two years of working at an engineering firm, I started my own business and have worked as a general contractor for thirty-three years. I designed and built new homes, additions, and rental apartments. Mason Properties is now a property management and maintenance company.

Linda served a mission in Maracaibo, Venezuela. She has been blessed to serve as a Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, Primary President, and Seminary Teacher. She is excited to serve the students of BYUI and help them secure a valuable internship.

I served in the Colorado Denver Mission. I have loved serving the youth and Young Single Adults. I have served as Young Men’s President, Elders Quorum President, Seminary Teacher, High Counselor, Public Affairs Representative, Bishop, and Deacon’s Quorum Advisor. Most recently, I served as a High Counselor in the Washington DC YSA Stake.

We look forward to helping the students of BYUI that are interested in the DC area.
