Bill and JoAnn Buyers
Portrait of Elder and Sister Buyers
Elder and Sister Buyers have lived in Rigby Idaho for the last 17 years. They are the parents of two daughters (Kelly and Natalie) and one son (Eric) who bring continuous joy into their lives.

Bill earned a BS Chemical Engineering degree at Auburn University (1979). He worked two years as an engineer at a chemical production facility before serving 11 years in the US Navy nuclear submarine service. After his military service, Bill worked in the facility engineering and management profession at three Department of Energy sites, including 15 years at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). He retired from INL in January 2022. Bill has served as a Stake high councilor and clerk at the Rexburg Idaho Married Student 3rd Stake, ward mission leader, and as Housing Coordinator for the Idaho, Idaho Falls Mission. He is currently the ward Sunday school secretary.

JoAnn worked as a paraeducator with special needs students at the middle and highschool level, retiring in May 2021. She managed the Rigby area Special Olympics team for 10+ years. JoAnn served with Bill as the Idaho Falls Mission housing coordinator. She is currently a service missionary supporting the Rexburg Idaho family services office. She has served in many stake and ward relief society and primary leadership and teaching positions.

They love spending time camping with extended family and friends when the Idaho weather permits. Serving as service missionaries and visiting their children in southern California and Washington state keep them busy the rest of the time.

Bill and JoAnn are blessed with this opportunity to continue their missionary service with the students of BYU-Idaho and are looking forward to helping you find the right internship for you!
