Elder Worthen is a Las Vegas, Nevada native. He met his wonderful wife Janet when they were both performers with the Brigham Young University International Folk Dance Ensemble, touring with the group in Japan, The Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Korea. He is the Father of two sons and two daughters and the Grandfather of 5.
Elder Worthen has served as a Primary Teacher, Scoutmaster, Stake Young Men President, Bishop, Stake President’s Counselor, Ward Employment Specialist, Ward Mission Leader, Elder’s Quorum President, and Stake High Councilor. He also served a full-time mission in the Uruguay Montevideo Mission.
Elder Worthen started his career owning and operating a charter bus company in Las Vegas, after selling that company he was employed as COO and CEO of two local CPA firms. Currently, he is wrapping up active residential real estate investments in preparation to serve a full-time mission with his wife.
Elder Worthen loves working and playing with his family. He enjoys working with his hands and teaching by working beside his children and now grandchildren. Hobbies have included building and fixing things, SCUBA, Boating, Snow Skiing/Boarding, and Rappelling.
He is excited for this opportunity to serve the students of BYU Idaho, and is looking forward to meeting many of you!
