Gary & Debbie Gardner
Gary and Debbie Gardner currently live in Draper, Utah. Gary was raised in Idaho Falls, while Debbie was raised in Gilroy, California. They met at BYU and married in the Oakland temple in 1973. They are the parents of five children, two sons and three daughters, and raised them in Idaho Falls. They have twenty grandchildren.
Gary attended Ricks College in 1966-67 and then was called as a missionary to the Southern Australian Mission 1968-70, serving mostly in Adelaide, Melbourne and Tasmania. After his missionary service he attended BYU and majored in Business Management graduating in 1973.
Gary's working career was spent in the lighting and electrical wholesale industry from sales and management to ownership of the companies. Gary has served in many areas of the church from Elders Quorum President and High Priests Group Leader to Ward Clerk and Ward mission Leader. He and Debbie now serve as ward missionaries in their ward.
Debbie graduated from BYU majoring in Education and Child Development. After rearing her family she received a Master’s Degree from Idaho State University. Debbie was a favorite substitute teacher for many years and loved teaching at the high school where her children attended. She has served faithfully in many church callings from Primary and Young Women’s President to Stake Relief Society and YW Counselor. She also was in the Public Affairs Counsel in Idaho Falls and instigated the Nativity Christmas Display Open house. She also taught institute and was a seminary substitute for many years.
Elder and Sister Gardner served a Public Affairs mission from 2009-11 in the Australia Sydney Area Office.
