What is recreation management?

Recreational management is a course of study focusing on the skills and knowledge needed to create and deliver recreation and fitness programs in a variety of settings. It teaches skills used for therapy, facilities management, first aid, and keeping the environment clean and beautiful. BYU-Idaho also offers a therapeutic focus within the major. It concentrates on human anatomy and physiology, psychology, and leadership to prepare students to aid those with physical and emotional challenges.

Why should I consider majoring in recreation management?

Recreation management provides students with life enhancing skills and insight in making wholesome recreation choices regarding personal and family leisure time. Students receive leadership training through adventure education. Recreation management majors receive professional preparation for diverse career opportunities.
