Creating a Culture of Self-Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
As part of Brigham Young University-Idaho’s regular accreditation process, the University will be hosting representatives from the Northwest Commissions on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) April 21-23, 2021. The NWCCU accreditation team will meet with students, faculty, and staff to perform a comprehensive evaluation for the University’s Year Seven Self-Evaluation process. The University is currently accredited by NWCCU. Continued accreditation means that the Institution meets the commission’s established standards of educational quality and effectiveness for student learning and student achievement.
Brigham Young University-Idaho seeks to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who are leaders in their homes, the Church, and their communities. The university does this by
- Building testimonies of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and fostering its principles in a wholesome academic, cultural, and social environment.
- Providing a high-quality education that prepares students of diverse interests and abilities for lifelong learning and employment.
- Serving as many students as possible within resource constraints.
- Delivering education that is affordable for students and the Church.
To ensure program offerings will aid students in successful learning and achievement opportunities, the university follows standards for success outlined by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and coordinates with the Northwest Commission regularly through a process called accreditation.
