Congratulations! Wireless printing is now set up! When you want to print something using a campus printer select BYUI. You will then be asked to enter your netID and you will then be able to print the document at any Pharos print station

(Mac OS 10.4x or earlier)
Please be sure you've installed the most recent printer drivers to ensure proper function.
HP drivers can be downloaded here. (You may need the free StuffIt Expander). This will provide you with an installation "pack" that provides most HP LaserJet drivers.
Drivers for the Canon or Panasonic models used on campus may have special requirements.
- Click here to download and install Pharos Popup software. Click here to download and install from BYUI local host.
- a. Enter the Server name in "Server Address" (e.g. "iprint" or "abinadi")
The "Server Port" and "Server Timeout" should be fine with the default values.
b. If asked about the "Client Port" just accept the default value: 28212
c. If asked any other questions during the popup install, accept the defaults. If installed previously, it may ask if you want to enable or disable. Please enable. - Run the Printer Setup Utility
Found in Applications/Utilities folder or Add printer in the Printers System Preferences - Click Add Printer...
- Hold down the "Option" key while you click once on the "More Printers..." button Doing that will allow you to select "Advanced" in the next step.
- Select "Advanced" in the upper pull-down menu

- Select "Pharos Print Server" in the "Device" pull-down menu
-
Enter the name of the print queue (without server name) in the "Device Name" field, then enter the server name with port number 515 (servername:515) and queue name in the "Device URI" field similar to the way shown in this example. The port number will always be 515, therefore if server name is "abinadi" and Queue name is "Pharos4000" it would look like this example:
- In the "Printer Model" field select the brand of printer and then choose the printer model.
-
It may be necessary to set additional options depending on the print queue being used, after you've finished adding the printer.
-
Click Add when ready.
-
Be sure to set any options not set by default in the printer info.
-
With the printer name in the printer list high-lighted, click the "Info" icon. From the Info dialog, select "Installable Options" and select as needed.
-
Click "Apply Changes" before exiting the dialog.
