Campus and Educational Tours

Public tours

Guests are welcome to come explore the changing BYU-Idaho campus. Tour guides are available Monday through Friday except holidays. Please request a campus tour at least two business days in advance of your visit by calling University Relations at 208-496-3125 or e-mail: campustours@byui.edu.

Educational Group Tours

Each year, over 1000 young students visit BYU-Idaho to gain knowledge and to broaden their exposure to the world of higher education. University Relations coordinates the tours and assigns BYU-Idaho students to serve as tour guides creating an enjoyable learning experience. Tours are designed to meet each group's specific needs. Frequently visited areas include:

  • Geology Museum in the Romney Building

  • Greenhouses in Benson Building

  • Planetarium in the Romney Building (see note below)

  • Thomas E. Ricks Gardens

  • Wildlife Museum in Benson Building

  • Walking campus tours for an overview of the university including the BYU-Idaho Center

Group tours are free of charge and increasing in popularity; please make reservations well in advance. Large groups may be divided into smaller numbers to accommodate the space (ideally 25-30 each). To schedule a tour, please call University Relations at (208) 496-3125 or use the online request form.

Note:

  • Tours for prospective students are provided by the Admissions Office.

  • Group reservations for Planetarium shows that do not also include a campus tour may be scheduled through the campus scheduler in Scheduling Office at (208) 496-3120.
