Current Projects

New Central Energy Facility:

The facility design is nearing completion.  The facility is designed to 1) change the fuel from coal to natural gas and 2) produce electricity as a co-generation from the steam production.  If the project is approved and funded by the Board of Trustees, construction will commence in fall of 2013.  See the live webcam here.

Campus 2013:

Each year concrete sidewalks are replaced based on life and safety concerns.  The replacement projects are scattered across campus.  Construction will commence in May 2013 and be complete in August 2013.
Exterior hard surface maintenance will include asphalt repair in parking lots.  Click here for a map of areas to be replaced.

Corner of 7th South and 1st West (adjacent to Ivy Apartments):

The site was cleared last year to complete the Geo-Technical survey of the site and establish soil capacities.  The planned construction of student housing for BYU-Idaho has been postponed.  The site is managed by a Storm Water Pollution prevention Plan as required by State of Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.  Protective measures are: 1) apply seeds and mulch for native grasses and 2) install and maintain water detention structures to prevent water from leaving the site.  The facilities are inspected weekly to review the integrity of storm water management.  There is no schedule for construction on this site.  See the live webcam here.
