New Horizons innovative curriculum provides an opportunity of choice for parents who would like their children to learn another language in addition to a rigorous standards-based program.
Six years ago, New Horizons opened its doors starting with a kindergarten cohort of approximately 100 students. Each subsequent year, we have added a new kindergarten cohort. This year, the original cohort of students have reached the fifth grade and our school has become the second largest elementary in the Nampa School District. Our enrollment has reached 519 students. The Nampa School District is committed to continuing to provide dual language opportunities for our students and will extend the dual language program to its middle schools.
Currently, our school is serving 519 students from all backgrounds and all areas of Nampa. The chart below shows the demographics of our school for the year 2011-2012. While our school has grown by this year, the make up of our student body remains consistent with last year's numbers. It is important to note that each one of our 519 students attends New Horizons by choice. Our school does not have boundaries as other elementary schools do. The boundaries for New Horizons are the entire Nampa School District.
