Student Body Officers

The Student Body President leads the Student Representative Council, the Student Leadership Council, oversees the Student Voice process, and represents the students of BYU-Idaho as a member of the President's Council and University Council.

The Student Body Vice President leads the Student Representatives of the Student Representative Council and represents the students on the Student Well-Being Council.

Together, they lead the SRC in its mission to represent students in administrative councils, research student concerns and implement viable solutions, and educate students on current policies. The student body officers report directly to the Dean of Students on a weekly basis.

Student Representatives

Members of the Student Representative Council work together with the administration in over 20 administrative councils to ensure that the voice of the students is being heard, and that issues and concerns are resolved in a way that benefits the entire BYU-Idaho community. They research student issues and produces reports and proposals to resolve them. They also work to provide explanations for University Policies that explain the "why" behind some of the most commonly misunderstood university policies. 12 Student Representatives are selected each semester.

Student Voice Coordinators

The Student Voice area administers a program of surveys and focus groups in which over 4,000 students participate each semester. Working with the Councils area, they help gather information and opinions from students that the university's leaders need to make better decisions. They also work with research to gather information on and measure issues that the administration may not yet know about. Four Student Voice Coordinators over see the Student Voice area.

Student Representative Council Staff

As an organization, the SRC operates under the Student Support department at BYU-Idaho. The Student Support Coordinator acts as the SRC's advisor and works directly with the Student Body Officers in administering the program.

Two program assistants work to manage the administrative work of the SRC including maintaining the SRC email accounts, Facebook page, and meeting records. They assist with the training and direction of SRC volunteers and with the production of reports, proposals, and the distribution of surveys.
