The deadline is past to apply to run for office for Winter 2008. We encourage you to instead submit an application to be involved with the Student Representative Council by Novemer 14th.

Requirements to Run For Student Body Officer

• Must currently be on-track and a matriculated Brigham Young University-Idaho student (12 credit hours minimum or six block credits).
• 30 credits completed by the end of this semester to run for office and shall have completed no more than 129 credits before taking office.
• Must have a cumulative GPA average of 2.5.
• Must not have current restrictions on financial, academic, or behavioral records.
• Must be in good standing with the Honor Code and the principles of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
• Must have two semesters of significant leadership experience At Brigham Young University-Idaho in one of the student-led programs on campus, one of which must be at least on the Coordinator level (level 2) of leadership. 
• Must have held a leadership position ( Coordinator, Representative, or on one of the committees) in the SRC (Student Representative Council) for at least one semester.

Important Dates and Deadlines

• Elections will be November 10-14th.
• Applications to run for Student Body Officer, to serve during the Fall, 2008 semester,  are due Wednesday, October 22nd.  Applications must be submitted electronically and can be found by clicking here.  Late applications will not be accepted.
• Mandatory Candidate Information Meeting. Individuals not able to attend are not eligible to run. Thursday, October 23th, 7:00 PM, Kimball 268
• Candidate's Platform, Campaign Designs, and Committee Lists due Monday, November 3rd. More information about this will be given at the Candidate Information Meeting.  Platform and Committee List Documents can be found by clicking on the links for these.

Requirements

• Mandatory Elections Committee Training Meetings Wednesday, November 5th, 7:00 or 8:00 PM in Taylor 120 and Thursday, November 6th,  at 7:30 PM in Taylor 120.  Those who wish to be on a committee must attend one of these meetings. Those not able to attend at least one of the training meetings cannot be a member of an elections committee.
• Pre-elections meeting for candidates on Saturday, November 8th, 9:00 AM.
• Mandatory training for the newly elected Student Body Officers: Saturday, November 15th. This training will last from 9:00 AM through 6:00 PM.  Those who cannot make this training are not eligible to run for office.
• Mandatory evening training for the new Student Body Officers and the new members of the SRC: Thursday, November 20th, 6:30-10:00 PM, Taylor 211.
• Mandatory overnight training retreat for the new Student Body Officers and the new S.R.C. members: Friday evening and Saturday, December 5th-6th. 
• The new Student Body Officers will need to be back in Rexburg on Friday, January 2nd, after the Christmas break.
