MARRIED STUDENT INSURANCE FORUM

  • Premiums are determined by demographic pools. Married Students are one of these pools, the premiums that they pay are used for claims for only married students.

  • Plan maximum has been raised from $120,000 to $1,000,000. Students will be responsible for all services up to $20,000 in a year. This means that the student will be responsible for their copayments, deductible, and any other agreed upon office fees. After $20,000, DMBA will cover all costs up to $1,000,000 with no cost to the student. This is good for the billing year, and starts over with the new cycle.

  • Plan deductible is $750 per person up to $1500. This deductible doesn't apply to services provided in the Student Health Center.

  • Or, students can call 1-800-777-3622.

  • Always have providers submit claims to DMBA so they can keep track of your deductible limits.

  • Pre-existing conditions can be covered provided the student can show proof of insurance for 12 months previous to BYU-I SHP Insurance Enrollment.

  • When a student comes toBYU-I already pregnant, pregnancy is covered as long as the student had maternity coverage at time of the conception with a previous insurance plan.
