An Invitation
We invite you to participate in the summer 2008 Spirit Week festivities which will take place May 27-31. The theme for this celebration is Planting Seeds. At the founding of BYU-Idaho on November 12, 1888, Jacob Spori prophetically announced, "The seeds we are planting today will grow and become mighty oaks, and their branches will run all over the earth." At the April 2006 graduation ceremony, Elder Russell M. Nelson also prophetically stated, “You are like seeds to the wind. The Lord will take you all across the Earth where you can sink down roots and build the kingdom.”
On Tuesday, May 27th, four oak trees will be planted in front of the Spori Building to commemorate Jacob Spori's vision of what this school would become as well as serve as a reminder of Elder Nelson's vision for what BYU-Idaho students would become.
