Upcoming Activities...
Meeting: Thursday, February 21, 2008, 7-8 p.m. in the Spori. We will be discussing possible careers in the Public Relations field. As always, there will be food.
Previous Activities...
Previously, PRSSA met and discussed possible fields in the Public Relations arena including Crisis Management, Human Resources, Statistical Analysis, and Private Consulting. For our activity, PRSSA members developed 45 second pitches for their favorite cereal.
We had a Q&A with Brother Mike Cannon and Brother Ward Hicks, two very accomplished PR specialists and professors at BYU - Idaho.
Opening Social: Wednesday, January 14th, 2008: The biggest turnout ever! Over 40 students greeted each other and shared ideas for the upcoming semester.
Wednesday, December 5th, 2007: Closing Social; Discovering the PR Biz and pizza party.
Wednesday, Nov. 7th, 2007: Members sat in a circle and had one minute to browse another member's resume. We concluded with a group discussion about making the perfect resume.
Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007: Officers from PRSSA talked about issues discussed at the National Conference in Philadelphia. Members were also invited to join a comittee.
Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007: Guest Speaker Brother Fay discussed his experiences working at a technical PR firm.
