Jefferson Stancliffe is a Biology education major in his third semester here at BYU-Idaho. He is also this year's Annual Mole Day Run winner! He completed the 2.25 miles in 13 minutes and 58 seconds. This picture shows him with his first place prize.
Jefferson ran cross country and wrestled in high school where he grew up in Toppenish, Washington. He finished in the top 12 in the state, so finishing first in a race is no news to him. In fact, he and his roommates are preparing for a marathon in Moab November 3rd. Best of luck to you Jefferson!
Part of his training includes regular practice and a healthy diet. However, his favorite dessert is a root beer float, and he says that even though he's training for a marathon soda isn't off limits if there's ice cream in it. Give him a can of root beer and he'll decline. Throw in some ice cream and he won't resist even with a marathon coming up in a few weeks.
Whenever he's not training for marathons or studying for his Chem 105 class, he enjoys drawing comics. He and a friend are currently working on starting their own online comic strip. They're in the process of developing the storyline, but he thinks that it will be ready to publish around next summer. In the meantime, he may even do a few comic strips for the Chemistry Society.
