ACMS Job Descriptions
President - shall be the chief officer of this chapter and shall preside at its meetings. He/she shall appoint all committees, shall be an ex-officio member of all committees, and shall perform all duties usual to such office. Is a member of the Executive Committee.

VP of Professional Relations - shall be responsible for getting sponsors for activities and other events that the ACMS sponsors. Recruit volunteers for events such as the career fair. Work with activities chair for the Mini- Competition. Research available scholarships for CM and Architecture students. Recruit employers to attend round table events. Preside in absence of President. Attend a majority of the local home builder's association meetings with the Liaison to the HBA. With the President appoint the Industry Associations Liaison as an assistant to his/her position. Preside over Professional Relations Committee, appoint Committee Leaders, and delegate his/her duties accordingly. Is a member of the Executive Committee.
VP of Activities - shall organize at the minimum one opening, one closing and one other social/activity event per semester. Organize the contractor round table, mini competition which could be used as one of the "other" activities. Appoint Assistants to his/her position. Preside over Activities Committee, appoint Committee Leaders, and delegate his/her duties accordingly. Is a member of the Executive Committee.
VP of Service - shall organize at least one service project per semester. Participate with Happy Factory and Habitat for Humanity. Appoint Assistants to his/her position. Preside over Service Committee, appoint Committee Leaders, and delegate his/her duties accordingly. Is a member of the Executive Committee.
VP of Publicity - shall send weekly update emails about upcoming events to ACMS members and non-ACMS members if possible. Follow-up with sponsors and professionals with a thank you for their time or donation. Design and distributes posters, signs and fliers containing information about upcoming events. Work with the VP of Enrollment to advertise applications for competition teams, presidency applications, and general enrollment. Work with historian to create documentation/advertisement posters of events (pictures, etc.). Appoint Assistants to his/her position. Work with the Webmaster to publicize on the ACMS Website and I-Learn. Preside over Public Relations Committee, appoint Committee Leaders, and delegate his/her duties accordingly. Is a member of the Executive Committee.
Secretary/Historian - shall render periodic records to the chapter during his term of office. Shall keep a record of all the official proceedings of the chapter, maintain record of sponsors, amount donated, and the reason or use of the donation, and maintain the membership records in coordination with the treasurer. Maintain photographic documentation of activities/events and periodically post to ACMS display case. Take meeting minutes and distribute to the executive committee. Update by-laws, constitution, and procedures manual. Manage ACMS email account. With the President appoint the Secretary of Enrollment as an assistant to his/her position. Is a member of the Executive Committee.
Treasurer - shall be responsible to the Association for an accounting of all monies collected and disbursed by the chapter. He/she shall be responsible for the collecting, depositing and disbursing all monies. He/she shall render periodic records to the chapter during his term of office. Charge the student enrollment fees. Create semester budget and submit to BYU-I Society Administration to collect society funds provided by the university. Provide a budget for activities/events. Track and record a running account of income and expenses and verify monthly with the society's online account with the University. Is a member of the Executive Committee.
Web Master - shall coordinate with all members of the Executive Committee, especially VP of Public Relations, to post information on ACMS website and on I-Learn. Update mailing/enrollment lists on I-Learn and ACMS e-mail account. Is a member of the Executive Committee.
Industry Associations Liaison (HBA & AGC) - shall attend the local home builder's association meetings and events. Inform Executive Committee of upcoming events and coordinate society participation. Appoint Assistants to his/her position and delegate accordingly, work with VP of Prof. Relations. Is an Assistant to the Executive Committee, but shall attend Executive Committee meetings.
Secretary of Enrollment - shall maintain record of society enrollment and update as required. Work with VP of Public Relations to advertise applications for competition teams, presidency applications, and general enrollment. Verify ACMS membership of competition team participants. Appoint Assistants to his/her position and delegate accordingly., work with secretary. Is an Assistant to the Executive Committee, but shall attend Executive Committee meetings.
Assistants - shall coordinate with appropriate committee Vice Presidents and Committee Leaders. He/She may serve as a Committee Leader. Assist appropriate VP as directed. Are Assistants to the Executive Committee.
Committees
Committee Leaders - shall coordinate with appropriate committee Vice Presidents and Assistants. Direct Committee Members as directed by VP or VP Assistant. He/She is appointed on single activity/event basis. Are Assistants to the Executive Committee.
Committee Members - shall perform duties as directed by appropriate Committee Leaders, VP Assistants, or Executive Committee member.
(A) Executive Committee--shall consist of the President, VP of Professional Relations, VP of Public Relations, VP of Activities, VP of Service, Secretary/Historian, Liaison to the HBA, VP of Enrollment, Treasurer, Web Master, and Faculty Advisor.
