On Tuesday, the Republican campaign bus stopped at Broulim's in Rexburg. The rally was part of a statewide tour Idaho candidates are making as part of their campaign.

The candidates included Congressman C.L. "Butch" Otter, who is making running for the Governor's office, State Controller candidate Donna Jones and Ron Crane, who is running for State Treasurer.

Candidates stayed just less than an hour, but spent their time talking to constituents and reporters, and encouraged those in attendance to vote the Republican Party line.

Otter, who has had bad press recently for being more libertarian than republican, talked about his strict constitutional views and his belief in the extent of government.

"The most important people making decisions is local government," Otter said.

Otter's colleague, Congressman Simpson, is seeking a fifth term in office and spoke of his confidence that a GOP majority will be maintained.

"The last two weeks [before the election] are the most important. People focus on [the issues and on] the election...This election is all about turn out."
