Mothers’ Weekend has traditionally been held each winter semester as a time for mothers to visit campus and find out what their kids’ college experiences are all about. With activities ranging from classes to contests to concerts, the purpose of Mothers’ Weekend is to provide an opportunity to strengthen relationships.
Students who are off-track during the winter semester have, in the past, missed out on the event. However, beginning next fall, Mothers’ Weekend will be held on a rotating schedule, occuring every other semester.
Students and mothers who were looking forward to the event this winter may be disappointed about the schedule change. However, the new schedule will allow more students and mothers to participate, and will also mean that mothers will have the opportunity to experience Rexburg as something other than an arctic tundra.
Students can look forward to next fall’s event, Oct. 10-12. Past Mothers’ Weekend events have included workshops, the President’s Welcome, service projects and concerts.
