Pump it up with fitness classes

BYU-Idaho offers many ways of getting in shape while having fun. Body Pump is one of the aerobic classes offered.

Body Pump and all the other aerobics classes are offered free to BYU-I students.

The body pump class meets every Tuesday and Thursday night from 7 to 8 p.m. in the John W. Hart Building room 234.

Body Pump works every part of the body using weights.

“Body Pump is strength training. It builds endurance and each muscle in our bodies. This also burns more calories. The whole routine is done to music to keep you motivated,” said Nicole Wilder, the body pump instructor and a sophomore studying exercise science.

Some students like the workout because of the physical and mental benefits they receive.

“Body Pump is a great class to just relieve your stress, feel good about yourself and build strength. It is just a blast,” said Brett Cardon, a freshman studying exercise science.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and Wilder said students will notice a difference in the way they feel.

“You just walk out feeling ten times better about yourself,” Wilder said. □
