Spirit Week set to rock campus

A new spin on Spirit Week seeks to help students realize the Spirit of Ricks

Spirit Week is a time for students and faculty to celebrate the Spirit of Ricks at BYU-Idaho. The five-day celebration begins Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Along with a list of events, BYU-I is allowing students to go online and nominate someone they feel emulates the Spirit of Ricks to be the honorary torch bearer at Tuesday night’s ceremonies.

Spirit Week also includes an essay contest. Winners were chosen from two categories: Students, and Employees and Alumni. Student winners were Samantha Stewart, a senior studying English, Veronica Chugg, a senior studying communication, and Jack Sanofsky, a sophomore studying business management. Employee/Alumni winners were Emily Sell, alumna, Terry Gorton of the BYU-I English department. and Nini Anderson, alumna. □
