Obtaining summer grants has changed
For students taking classes this summer, financial help is available. BYU‑Idaho is offering grants for summer semester. The process of getting one is a little different from past summer semesters.

Smith Annex to be removed, making way for MC expansion
Due to construction on the Hyrum Manwaring Student Center, an announcement has been made that the Smith Annex will be removed. Construction on the MC will take place in phases. The first phase is expected to begin sometime in March.

Wade Huntsman designs for popular movies
The sketchpad that Jack Dawson, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, carried around on the deck of the Titanic was actually the development work of Wade Huntsman of the BYU‑Idaho Art Department. In the summer of 2005, Huntsman went from working with the world’s best artists to the world’s budding artists.

Services available for special needs
Each student at BYU‑Idaho and schools across the nation needs to be given the equal opportunity for education, according to disability laws. However, some students with special needs may require additional help to accomplish receive equal education.

Thursday volunteers paint toys for Happy Factory
Barbie dolls, Spiderman action figures, Transformers — it seems all toys must have lights, sounds and gadgets beyond belief to hold a child’s attention. Often toys are played with for a week or two, then lose their appeal and collect dust bunnies under the bed. Children in third- world countries

SIFE branches out in USA
By attending BYU‑Idaho instead of the average private four-year school, students can save enough money each year to buy more than 200,000 packets of chicken-flavored Ramen, 10 plasma HDTV’s, 20,000 Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers, or a sleek, silver Toyota Camry SE.

Café Kimball opens for breakfast and lunch
Students and employees have a university dining option besides those in the Manwaring Center. University Food Services has opened Café Kimball, a kiosk on the first floor of the Spencer W. Kimball Building.
