| Testing Center posts hours for finals week
The Testing Center will be changing the hours for finals week, starting on Monday, Dec. 18. The Testing Center will open at 7 a.m. and will close at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, the testing center will open at 7 a.m. and will close at 10 p.m. as well. Wednesday, Dec. 20, it will open at 7 a.m. and close to 6 p.m. The last test will be given one hour before closing each day. Students will need to follow the testing times in the finals test week schedule found on the Testing Center Web site. The Testing Center will have a priority line for students taking tests during their scheduled time. All other students who want to test will be in the standby line. Speech competitions to be held Saturday The Newel K. Whitney Society and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) will be hosting competitions on Dec. 2 for students who would like to practice speaking in public. No technology aids will be allowed, including computers and projectors. For the Public Speaking Competition, students need to prepare a six-minute, informative speech on a current event of choice. To sign up, students must e-mail Eric Embree at embreee@byui.edu by Thursday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. For the Elevator Speech Competition, students should prepare a 60-second speech on a business idea to present to a pseudo employer. Students may sign up through Amy Staiger in Smith 231 by Thursday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. |
