Sweat, bruises, blisters, calluses, and sore muscles are a badge of dedication for most dancers, and the ingredients the BYU-Idaho dancers use to make Extravadance.
Extravadance is a show put on by BYU-I’s top ballroom, contemporary and clogging teams.
“It’s going to be a show worth going to,” said Kassandra Struk, a sophomore studying health science.
Complicated rhythms, technical combinations and difficult lifts and drops will be performed at the show.
“Extravadance is the best opportunity on campus to see some real dancing. No matter what style people may like, they can watch it at Extravadance.” said Rilie Fry, a junior studying English education.
Each team that performs in Extravadance practices at least three times a week for three hours each practice, depending on the week.
“We practice so hard and are hoping that our dedication will pay off. It’s going to be an exciting show,” said Tyler Brady, a sophomore studying business.
In each number, the dance is designed to portray a specific mood.
From passion and romance to sass and spice, a wide range of emotions will be portrayed through each number.
“There will be a little something for everyone. Everyone will participate, even if it is just coming and supporting by watching.” said Jenni Owens, a senior studying psychology.
