Ever been to the David O. McKay Library and found that every computer was taken, or that the book or video required for a class was checked out and even had a waiting list?
The David O. McKay Library isn’t the only library in Rexburg.
The Madison Library District has the same educational resources as the campus library. Not only can a student check out required material for class at Madison Library District, but there are wide selections of popular videos that can be checked out for free.
“We try to get the most popular movies as they first come out. We have new releases on video and DVD,” said Robyn Armstrong, a librarian at Madison Library District.
Transformers, Beauty and the Beast: A Latter Day Tale, The Work and the Glory III and many other new movies will be available to check out at the library as soon as they reach local video stores.
“A student can check out as many videos, DVDs and books as they want with his or her library card,” Armstrong said.
Obtaining a library card is a relatively simple process.
“To get a library card, students just need to bring in photo ID and proof of their Rexburg address,” Armstrong said.
If a car, bike, skateboard or other type of transportation device is not available, don’t fret! The Madison Library District is within walking distance from campus.
“It’s just as close to campus as Broulim’s,” said Kristen Jex, a sophomore studying graphic design.
The Madison Library District is located on 73 North Center in downtown Rexburg.
