Auditions for the campus play As You Wish, a spin-off of the movie The Princess Bride, will be held Sept. 28 for students who want to be a part of the fantasy.
The script is going to stay loyal to the same type of comic puns as the movie, and the cast will be similar to the movie as well. Fans should expect characters based on Wesley, Buttercup, Miracle Max, the rhyming giant and more.
It’s not a musical, so students don’t need to stress over practicing their scales. Those wanting to auditon just need to show up and be prepared for a cold reading. Each person will be given a short section of the script to look over and get acquainted with.
“Once the students feel comfortable with the short script, they can try out,” said Megan Miller, a senior history education major and the student who adapted the script.
Auditions will be held from 5-10 p.m. in the Manwaring Center Little Theatre, room 344.
If students have any questions, they should contact Megan Miller at mil04034@byui.edu.
