Tickets sold out early for all performances of the 22nd Annual Halloween Concert.
This year’s theme was Shakespeare, using A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet. One of the Halloween characters, Igor, was played by Kendell Nielsen, faculty of the Music Department. “This is suppose to be a Halloween Concert, not some looney poetry reading,” Nielsen said.
President and Sister Clark attended the event for the second time. “Last year we heard it was one of the best events we enjoyed it so much we came back again,” said Sister Clark.
The type of entertainment at the Halloween concert was diverse.
“There is so much work that goes into this concert to make it so popular. There is such a variety of art dance, music and comedy It’s always a fun event,” said Jennifer O’Farrel, department chair of the Dance Department. “It takes a lot of time and creativity.”
Putting this show together wasn’t all work. One thing the collegiate dancers did to prepare for the performance night was have a sleepover one weekend.
Mackenzie Madsen, a sophomore from Spokane, Wash., said, “[The sleepover was] to bond and to get pumped up before the show.”
