Brother H. Reese Hansen is a professor of law at Brigham Young University. He practiced law in Salt Lake City prior to accepting his assignment to teach at BYU. Brother Hansen has also served as dean, assistant dean, and as associate dean of the J. Ruben Clark Law School.
Brother Hansen earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Utah State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Utah College of Law.
He has served on the governing boards of several national organizations. At the present time he serves on the ABA Foreign Law Initiative Law School Advisory Committee, on the Community Board of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, and just recently was elected to serve a three-year term as a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of American Law Schools.
Brother Hansen has served the Church as a stake president, Scoutmaster, varsity Scout leader, elders quorum president, counselor in two stake presidencies, bishop, and as a branch president at the Missionary Training Center in Provo. Presently he serves as the Gospel Doctrine teacher in his home ward.
Brother Hansen and his wife Kathryn are the parents of 4 sons. At the present time they have 19 grandchildren.
