The university announced changes in the administration last Tuesday at the same meeting where the new academic calendar was discussed.
The BYU-I Board of Trustees has approved three administrative changes for the institution. Garth Miller, who currently serves as both the Associate Academic Vice President for Technology and chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department, will now focus solely on his responsibilities as department chair.
Replacing Miller will be Spalding Jugganaikloo, who will serve in a new role called Chief Technology Officer. He currently is the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology at Lincoln Land Community College in Illinois. Jugganaikloo will begin his service at BYU-I in May.
Ric Page, who has served as Assistant Vice President of Student Life, will fill a newly created position of Associate Academic Vice President of Administration. Replacing Page will be Clark Gilbert, who currently serves as an assistant professor at Harvard Business School. Gilbert will begin work at BYUI in July.
