Devotional Bio: Quentin L. Cook

Elder Quentin L. Cook was sustained a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy in April 1998 and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Missionary Department. Prior to his call to the First Quorum of the Seventy, Elder Cook served as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy, in the Philippines Area Presidency, as President of the Pacific Islands, President of the North America Northwest Area, as bishop, stake president, Regional Representative, and Area Authority in the North America West Area.

Elder Cook graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science from Utah State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Stanford University. Professionally, Elder Cook was vice chairman of Sutter Health System. He had previously served as president and chief executive officer of California Healthcare System, and managing partner of Carr, McClelland, Ingersoll, Thompson and Horn, a San Francisco Bay Area law firm.

Elder Cook and his wife Mary are the parents of three children. At the present time they have seven grandchildren.
