Your two-year home
As missionaries around the world serve, they live in conditions, places and homes they never could have imagined
With 338 missions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2006, missionaries are sent to places all over the world, from Temple Square in Salt Lake City to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Housing can make a missionary go bananas

Jensen bought these bananas on the riverside in Ecuador. How many ended up being in the bunch? 219. Jake Jensen, a junior from Wasilla, Ark., lived in this apartment which contained two bedrooms with two companions in each. All four desks were in a separate living room next to the kitchen, so all four missionaries studied in the same room.

Matt Fillmore, a sophomore from Muscatine, Iowa, and his companion, Gustavo Salas (pictured above) lived in this self proclaimed “ghetto” apartment. There was one room, a small kitchen and a bathroom. Jeffrey Potts, a junior from Southbury, Conn., lived in a small guesthouse some members in the ward rented out to missionaries.
