Christmas is a time for family, togetherness and love. But let’s be honest. For a 10-year-old child, it’s also about the presents. To help all those confused parents and perplexed BYU-Idaho students with nieces and nephews to shop for, Toys ‘R’ Us released their “Best of the Season” toy list.
The annual list includes toys for girls and boys but also has a few on there for the Christmas newcomersthe babies. Fisher-Price had three of their toys appear on this year’s listing, including the “Tumble Time Tigger” and the “Laugh and Learn Musical Learning Chair.”
For some of the older children crowded around the Christmas tree, like the pre-teen younger sisters, there’s the “Bratz Rock Angelz Tour Bus” from MGA Entertainment. Some younger brothers might like Nintendo’s “GBA Micro.” Even the “Furby” from Hasbro has made a comeback and is on this year’s list.
Not everyone will find their favorite picks on the Toys ‘R’ Us “Best of the Season” list. With room for only 14 of this year’s hottest toys, the company was forced to forego some of the other popular ones. The ones that made the list aren’t put in any particular order, so students won’t know the year’s number one best Christmas toy.
“I have a lot of nieces and nephews to buy presents for, so it’s nice to be able to look at a list that tells me what’s popular right now. Its been a long time since I was a kid, and without the help of my family and toy lists, I wouldn’t have any idea where to start finding their presents,” said Tyrell Hill, a senior from Tetonia, Idaho.
Students could buy their favorite cousin an “IZ” from Zizzle, or a “Giggles and Coos Baby Doll” from You & Me, both of which made this years list.
“I’ve seen the ‘IZ’ from Zizzle and actually thought about buying one for my little brother, they look pretty cool,” said Melinda Doll a senior from Temecula, Calif.
