There are lots of ways to say goodbye in the English language. “Bye, Love you long time” probably wouldn’t be a saying anyone would use.
However, the three members of Love You Long Time say goodbye just like that.
Mike Braman, a junior from San Diego, Calif., plays the keytar, Tyson Stevens, a junior from Antioch, Calif., plays the drums and synthesizer and Brian Osborne, a junior, from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, plays the guitar and sings.
They named their band after the affectionate way they say goodbye to one another.
“The name comes from when we used to say goodbye to our good friends and we didn’t want to be too mushy, and say ‘I love you’ but just say ‘bye, love you long time’,” said Osborne.
Love You Long Time has been around for a year playing at different revues from Rexburg to Provo, Utah. With No more than a year under their belts, the band is ready to release there album Don’t Poop on my Party that is set to debut Dec. 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gary House Garage, 139 N. 300 W., in Rexburg. Two songs “Strobe Light” and “The Party Song” are already on the band’s Web site www.myspace.com/loveyoulongtime. Osborne describes their style of music as “electronic dance rock” with their musical influences listed as Snoop Dogg and Kenny Chesney.
