I follow the rules, except when it comes between me and Harry.
At 11:59 p.m. Nov. 17, I will be joining the sold-out crowed at Edwards Theater in Idaho Falls for the first showing of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
More than 30 percent of movie fans that frequent the most popular Potter fan site, mugglenet.com, polled that they would show up for the midnight showing, and 71 percent assured they would catch the movie some time during the first day.
When the third movie came out I almost cried because I had two weeks left in the mission field. This time, I’m ready for Harry, and nothing is going to stand in my way.
I bought tickets for my roommates and I nearly a month ago, and I have all of my Potter paraphernalia ready to come with me so that I will be known as the fan that I am.
Don’t judge me because I am breaking the rules that I willingly agreed to follow before I began attending Brigham Young University-Idaho. Do not think that this was a rash decision that I made at the spur of the moment. Much deliberation, prayer and contemplation went into making this choice.
Okay, maybe I bought the tickets the moment I heard they were for sale, hardly pausing to think I would be influencing five other faithful young woman to break curfew. But come on, it’s Harry Potter!
If you happen to spot me late Nov. 17, don’t bother trying one of the unforgivable curses to try and stop me because even the Cruciatus Curse won’t keep me away from the first showing.
