Nashville Nights, a new performance show at BYU-Idaho, will showcase students who specialize in folk and country music on Thursday, Nov. 10.
Modeled after the highly popular Guitars Unplugged, Nashville Nights is a student run show requiring the audition of solo acts and groups singing everything from country to bluegrass as well as other ‘Nashville’ style music.
After the Nov. 1 auditions, the singers were extended an acceptance into the show and have been practicing and fine tuning their voices to put on a night of live entertainment.
Nashville Nights chairman, Dan Kennedy, a sophomore from Portland, Ore., hopes this new performance venture will become a traditional campus show.
“We don’t want Guitars Unplugged to be the only huge show on campus,” said Kennedy on the Nashville Nights Web page.
Folk and country music fans, pull out those dusty cowboy boots and polish your oversized belt buckles and come to Nashville Nights on Nov. 10. It will be held in the Manwaring Center West Ballroom from 8-10 p.m. Purchase tickets at the ticket office or online for $2 with a student ID and $3 without a student ID.
